Description

Details

MAP Cycle is proud to offer our 4340 H beam connecting rods. The exotic 4340 forged steel makes for a lifetime rod.

Fits:

  • Norton Commando (all models 1967-77)
  • Norton Atlas (1963-68)
  • Norton G15
  • Norton N15 (1967-68)
  • Norton P11A/Ranger (1967-68)

Features:

  • Sold in matched pairs - balanced to +/- 1 gram
  • Unmatched quality - the best rods available anywhere for Triumph
  • "Solid Works" designed and stress tested
  • Machined from 4340 forging
  • Shot peened for stress relief
  • ARP2000 bolts (220,000 lb. tensile strength)
  • Innovative machined piston oil squirting notches
  • Double wrist pin oilers
  • Unique reinforced small end critical areas without adding excess weight or cost

Finite element analyses design by High Cotton MotoWorks allows for:

  • Re-shaped pin boss for added strength (helps prevent "pin flex"& small-end failure)
  • Double “forced” pin oilers to reduce friction and piston pin heat
  • Bushed small end (replaceable) eliminating the need for fragile and expensive DLC pins
  • Optimized big-end and pin boss for strength with important weight reduction compared to other steel rods

Note:

  • Unlike the stock Norton rods, our H-Beam rods have been designed without a big end oiling hole because it is not necessary. Other oiling systems take place of the hole in the big end.

Product Questions

what is the weight of one conecting rod for 750 norton
6
is this price for just one rod or a set of two?
Also would these fit a 1961 650 SS Manxman?
5
Are there any clearance issues with these Norton rods. I am in the process of fitting a set of map alloy rods and are having issues with clearance in the cylinder slot and the `bolt head` scrapping the cases. as such I am not keen on fitting them to a standard motor. are there any issues with the big end clearance on the steel rods
-3
I am looking at purchasing a set of Commando conrods from you. In the description you mention billet rods but also refer 4340 H Beam being forged. Are they forged or billet? Also do they have the orifice on the outside of each rod to squirt oil on the bores as per the standard Norton rods?
