Description

Details

MAP Cycle is proud to offer our 4340 H beam connecting rods. The exotic 4340 forged steel makes for a lifetime rod.

Fits:

  • Triumph T150 Trident (all years)
  • Triumph T160 Trident (all years)
  • BSA A75 Rocket III (all years)

Dimensions:  5.75 inches center to center

Features:

  • Rods are balanced to +/- 1 gram
  • Unmatched quality - the best rods available anywhere for Triumph
  • "Solid Works" designed and stress tested
  • Machined from 4340 forging
  • Shot peened for stress relief
  • ARP2000 bolts (220,000 lb. tensile strength)
  • Innovative machined piston oil squirting notches
  • Double wrist pin oilers
  • Unique reinforced small end critical areas without adding excess weight or cost

Finite element analyses design by High Cotton MotoWorks allows for:

  • Re-shaped pin boss for added strength (helps prevent "pin flex"& small-end failure)
  • Double “forced” pin oilers to reduce friction and piston pin heat
  • Bushed small end (replaceable) eliminating the need for fragile and expensive DLC pins
  • Optimized big-end and pin boss for strength with important weight reduction compared to other steel rods

Note:

  • Unlike the stock Triumph rods, these rods have been designed without a big end oiling hole because it is not necessary. Other oiling systems make the oiling hole in the big end unnecessary

Hi there,
Just wanting to confirm that your rods use standard bearing shells, or do you have to use specific to these rod bearing shells?
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards.
Grant.

Does the crankshaft have to be re balanced when using these rods. I have heard that steel rods are heavier than alloy ones, especially around the small end.

Regards, John.

Dear Sir, could you please advise in which country your Rocket 3 BSA rods are made? I purchased a set of Mikuni carbs from you a few years ago and it completely transformed my bike - more power with a rock steady idle, and much better fuel economy. I have no problem with Asian/Chinese rods providing they are properly made....
Best Regards, Peter Hesman,
