what size carburetor would you recomend for a engine that has been bored to about 710cc. the 32mm or 34mm?

The size of the carb is not usually regulated as much by increased bore as it is by the air delivery system and exhaust system. Do you have performance cams in the bike? Are you using pod-style air filters? Is your exhaust stock or a more free flowing aftermarket design? Have you had head work? If you're bike has performance cams, larger valves or head work, pod filters and free flow exhaust - along withe the bigger bore, then it can handle more air flow from a 34mm carb. It can probably handle it without valve work. If you're running basically a stock bike with a bigger bore, I'd suggest sticking with the 32mm.
In the world of carburetors, bigger isn't better unless your bike is set up to handle more air flow.

I want to buy the Atlas carb kit. I am concerned that the Manifold picture shows a curve. The Atlas motor is vertical as opposed to the Commando tilted forward. Does the Atlas require a curved manifold?

Ben,
The manifold we sell with the Atlas was designed specifically for the Atlas and not the Commando. The Commando manifolds are thicker and have more of a curve. We've been selling these kits for over 20 years with great success. The picture in the listing may not give you the best representation of how little the manifold is curved.

I have a 1966 norton atlas with two lectron carbs. Can't get it to idle consistently would this kit work for me. I believe i have 34 mm carbs.

Lectrons are finicky carbs and can be very troublesome. Also, if your bike doesn't have performance camshafts, some head-work with larger valves and a less restrictive exhaust than stock, the 34mm carbs may be a bit too big for your bike.
Larger than stock carbs will only make the bike run better if the engine is equipped to handle the increased fuel/air mixture with performance components like a street cam or larger valves. Otherwise too big a carb will make the bike run worse.
If your Atlas has a stock engine, we recommend a 32mm, single carb kit.
You will find our single carb kit is a huge improvement over the dual Lectrons. First, you will see much quicker starting, better performance on the bottom end and mid-range as well as a huge jump in dependability and ease of maintenance. Another huge benefit is that the single carb does not need to be synced like dual carbs.

I have a '64 Atlas with original bore and compression pistons as well as a Lucas K2F magneto. Which size kit is best for ease of idle and general smooth performance? Trying to keep the bike as de-tuned as possible given the crappy fuel in the NE.

Will this kit work in an N15 CS? Is it a question of clearance to the Marchless frames' center down tube?

We have never installed this kit on a N15, and looking at pictures of how close the carb is to the down tube, I believe I can safely say this kit will not fit a N15 Matchless.
