Triumph Deluxe Belt Drive Crankcase Breather Kit

This breather was designed to work with our belt drive kit, but it can be used on most any Triumph, BSA or Norton twin to allow the crankcase to properly ventilate without letting it pressurize.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty, alloy, one-way reed valve breather
  • One way flow
  • Alloy construction to resist corrosion

Fits:

  • Most Triumph, BSA and Norton twins

Dimensions

  • Engine/crankcase side pipe (larger pipe with a lip) has an OD of 14mm and an ID of 10.3 mm.
  • The smaller exit pipe (in line with body) has an OD of 12mm and an ID of 9.5mm.

Installation Note:

  • Install the breather so the tube exiting the engine crankcase enters the larger, lipped pipe which sits 90-degrees to the reed box. The exhaust or exit tube (smaller pipe with no lip) sits inline with the reed box.  You can test the direction of flow can be tested by gently blowing on both fitting. The larger intake is the only fitting that will allow air to pass. The smaller fitting will not.

Should this breather be attached inline to the intake cam's crankcase breather (without the rotary disc) on a Triumph pre-unit motor, or should it be run on a separate breather on the timing chest? Some motors seem to have breathers in both places.
