I have a 1970 norton commando, frame I'd number 141819. Will this side stand fit.

The 1970 Norton parts catalog doesn't show a sidestand. The 1971 catalog does. However, if you have a sidestand lug on the bottom, right side of your frame, where the bottom, front frame brace is located under the engine, this sidestand will probably fit. That lug will probably be a flat piece of steel about 1-1/2 inches wide with a rounded edges and a hole in the center.
Even if your bike doesn't have the lug, it would be really easy to fabricate and weld to your frame.I have attached a link to this fabrication process on the Old Brits website:
