Hello There
I anm tuning a Husqvarna 250WR with spark arrestor muffler. I am working with a type 166 38 mm VM series model carb. The factory jetting is much richer than what the bike seems to want.
It seems like a Q-6 needle with a 6 DH3 needle and a 410 mainjet is the best so far. The slide cutaway is 2.5 with a 45 pilot jet. I am at aprox 800 ft above sea level and use Canadian Chevron 94 fuel which contains no ethanol. My question is, : When a needle is deemed “ richer” does that mean richer overall or, richer in one spot only.? Can, since the 6DH3 is the so called leanest, do I go up on the needle jet, or go to the next needle, in this case the 6DH4?
I have it running pretty good but it is not right at low throttle openings, it flutters a little, seems rich and going to the leanest clip, makes it too lean and hangs up a little coming back down to idle.

I know jetting a two stroke over the phone is really tough...any suggestions?
