Do I need to hone this new T100R cylinder or just install with new pistons? Which are the best pistons/rings I can use for this new cylinder?

It's always a good idea to give a new, OE cylinder a very light hone before putting it into service. But a lot depends on what pistons you use. We don't carry our billet piston for the 500 twins anymore, but the EMGO piston is an excellent and inexpensive choice. You can pair that up with a set of Hasting or Grant rings. These are very good quality. With this cylinder, EMGO pistons and Grant or Hastings rings, you should probably give the cylinder a light hone with a 150 stone. But that could change with the type of rings used, clearance required for the pistons and measurement of the cylinder. Our suggestion is to take this cylinder, along with your pistons and rings, to a good machine shop. You should have them measure it and hone accordingly.
