Note:

• Many vintage Triumph, Norton and BSA tanks use 1/4" BSP (British Standard Pipe) thread rather than NPT, so these petcocks will not thread completely into a tank with a BSP fitting. It will however thread in 2-3 threads and Teflon tape must be used. Once the threads begin to tighten, move the petcock in and out slightly using a wrench on the petcock and minimal hand pressure to turn the petcock into the correct position. Do not over-tighten. With thread tape, these petcocks will seal with just two or three treads.
