Important notes about this kit:

When jetting our carburetor kits, MAP Cycle uses only brand new, genuine Mikuni components. We have been setting these kits up for decades and have provided jetting that works for the majority of bikes -- from stock to mildly modified engines. Due to the nature of engines and the fuel requirements they have, we cannot guarantee perfect tuning for every individual motorcycle. Engine modifications, riding altitude, fuel type and ambient temperature all influence the fuel requirements which must be met for proper engine function. That's why we provide extra jetting so you can fine tune your bike to your particular needs.

Hi I'm curious about the throttle linkage and choke setup on the Mikuni kit? Is the 3-1 throttle cable setup made to go from the carbs all the way to the throttle linkage? And do the chokes have to each be manually turned on/off?

The three-into-one cable runs directly from the carbs to the throttle. By doing that, this kit eliminates about 5 pounds of old, hard-to-adjust, throttle linkage on the Triumph and BSA triples. That's one reason why so many of our customers love them.
Yes, you do have to choke the carbs manually because they are not linked, but many customers find you only need to choke one or two carbs. It's never been a problem that anyone has addressed, probably because the bike starts so much easier with the MIkunis than than with the old Amal set up.
We've been selling these kits for over 30 years. Our customers love them and keep coming back for new kits when they buy new Tridents or Rocket 3s. Chances are, you'd love this kit too.

Is the 26mm or 28mm-version best for my 1975 T160? I'm interested in torque not in power at high rpm.

If your bike is mostly stock and does not have performance cams, open exhaust or a big bore kit, your bike will perform best with a 26mm Mikuni kit in your T160.
